North East Scarborough Community Recreation & Child Care Centre

On April 14, I had the honour to help break ground on the new North East Scarborough Community Recreation and Child Care Centre (NESCC) at Joyce Trimmer Park (Sheppard Avenue and Conlins Road).

This centre will be the City of Toronto's first net zero energy and emissions community recreation facility. The building will also house the City's second net zero child care centre. The community centre's amenities include a 25-lane swimming pool and leisure pool, a gymnasium large enough to accommodate and indoor cricket pitch, a teaching kitchen, and a dance fitness studio.

The surrounding park will receive a skateboard area, mini soccer field, basketball court, splash pad, playground, outdoor seating, a gathering area and public art works.

The construction is anticipated to be completed by 2024. To learn more about the NESCC, click here.
