City’s Home Energy Loan Program to Receive $14.6 million in Funding
On Monday, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) announced that the City of Toronto’s Home Energy Loan Program (HELP) would receive up to $14.6 million in funding.
Launched in 2014, HELP offers low-interest loans to Toronto homeowners to cover the cost of home energy improvements like insulation, windows, rooftop solar and more. It’s aimed at reducing greenhouse gases as well as supporting the City’s TransformTO climate action strategy and net-zero emissions target.
This funding will help the City expand HELP, finance deeper home energy retrofits and support more Toronto homeowners. Overall, I believe it will lead to a healthier and more resilient City.
