Electricity Relief Package – Province of Ontario
To support Ontarians through the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation, the Government of Ontario is providing immediate electricity rate relief for families, businesses, and farms paying time-of-use rates.
For a 45-day period, the government is working to suspend time-of-use electricity rates, holding electricity prices to the off-peak rate of 10.1 cents-per-kilowatt-hour. This reduced price will be available 24 hours per day, seven days a week to all time-of-use customers, who make up the majority of electricity consumers in the province. The Ontario Energy Board has committed to holding electricity rates at off-peak rates for residents and small businesses, this will allow a savings of roughly $20/month for families and $150/month for businesses. There is no application and this will be automatically calculated as part of your next utility bill.

Please note that as the provision of electricity is an essential service, you will continue to see crews completing work on City streets.
