Food Drive Car Parades

A huge thank you to everyone who donated food to the Daily Bread Food Bank during our car parades on May 12 and October 3. These events were supported by UTSC, Toronto Fire Services, Toronto Police, the Toronto Zoo and Parks Canada. In May, we were joined by the Highland Creek Scouts, along with The Raptor and Carlton the Bear from MLSE.  In October, we welcomed Mayor John Tory and thanks to Cones and Characters, Spiderman and Elsa were able to drop by. Together, the community provided the Daily Bread Food Bank with enough food for over 4,000 meals!

Tony Stacey Car Parade

On Friday May 1, my office joined a drive-by parade at the Tony Stacey Centre for Veterans Care. Organized by #ScarbTO resident, D'Arcy Perkovic, over 100 vehicles including those from the Toronto Zoo, Toronto Police 43 Division and community associations, joined to say thank you to members of staff, and remind the residents of the Tony Stacey Centre that #ScarbTOcares.

Thank you to neighbours and community members who took part in this display of gratitude and appreciation for all the wonderful staff at the Tony Stacey Centre. All staff in every department play an important role in keeping our residents safe and healthy, I thank them for their professionalism and dedication.

Art Submissions

Community members of all ages came together to create notes and artwork for seniors in long-term care and retirement homes in our neighbourhood, including the Tony Stacy Centre for Veterans Care, Extendicare Rouge Valley and Altamont Care Community. As centres are currently closed to visitors due to COVID-19 precautions, the messages help residents know that we care and are thinking of them during this challenging time.

Thank you to all those who contributed their creativity and well wishes! See the examples of our neighbourhood talent below.
